walt francis Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Well here's the start and I am just playing with the wheels right now and yes it has a Hemi. I shot some primer on her and I really like it .... NOOOOO not a Ratrod !!!!! I am stripping all the chrome on the valve covers getting them ready for their treatment. This will be a quick show on how I did the valve covers, first I foiled the fins Shot them with flat black. Then just erased the paint off from the fins and here's how it is turning out so far. Waiting on the headers and carbs to come out of the stripper so I can get them done and on . This won't be a Bill Geary build but I hope you like it and thanks for looking
Dr. Cranky Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Looking good so far. It's got the making of a sweet ride. Keep it going.
Raul_Perez Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 The valve covers look GREAT!! Thanks for sharing,
John E. Bowers Jr. Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 (edited) I just picked this kit up today and when I cracked it open I thought that I would use the supplied small block. I also won a resin manifold and carb set at the MAMA club meeting raffle and thought that it would come in handy somewhere along the line on another build. After seeing this post I have decided to use the HEMI. Your valve cover treatment sold me! Edited September 19, 2009 by John E. Bowers Jr.

LO51 MERC Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Did you beat someone (unnamed, or was he?) to the punch with the trick on the valve covers? It was a good one! That mill looks STOKE! Gary

Ryan S. Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I'd heard of doing foil on scripts before paint, but the valve cover trick is super cool, thanks for sharing that. I've got a set for a Ford SOHC that I'm going to use that treatment on!
walt francis Posted September 28, 2009 Author Posted September 28, 2009 Just some progress on the motor and got the wheel wells in and trunk lid I hate wiring engines I would rather foil five cars These are the headers I will be going with and the color borrowed these from GMP site
