slant6 Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Im sure someone on here can answer this. Ive seen a few Enzo's on this here. Here Is what the brake parts look like. And this is the PE disk It doesnt fit! Ive only used PE parts a couple of times, but every time I did the disk's had a cutout so that it would fit around the calliper. What do I do?
Harry P. Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 1. Use a razor saw to cut away the calipers along the surface of the kit rotor. 2. If the PE part has holes in it (cross-drilled detail), paint the surface of the kit rotor flat black. 3. Use a drop of CA to attach the PE rotor to the surface of the kit disk. 4. Paint the calipers you removed in step 1 and glue back in place with a drop of CA. There will be a gap in the caliper because you have the PE rotor in place now, but when the wheels are attached you won't see that gap.
slant6 Posted September 27, 2009 Author Posted September 27, 2009 I was afraid I was gonna have to do something like that. I think I have some spare parts I can practice on. Thanks for the tip.
slant6 Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 Well, that Wasn't so bad. Thanks for the tip.
chris coller Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I am in the midst of finishing up my FXX the rotors on these cars are actually carbon fiber. I painted mine light gunmetal and just painted the calipers semi gloss black. Just my two pennies worth.
