how to find model car values...

Hi

New to this site & haven't built a model in 30 years but my son has found a huge interest. I recently acquired some 20-30 y/o

nascar & open wheel race car models. All are new in box, some sealed. Is there a book published that will tell me the value of

these cars or any I may buy/find in the future? are they worth more not built & new in box? I don't want to open & possibly ruin

a good thing, I can go to Walmart & get us started.

There have been model kit price guides published, but of course the inherent problem with any price guide is that it becomes obsolete almost immediately, as values are always changeable.

The best way to get an idea of what a particular kit is selling for these days is to look and see if there's one for sale on ebay... you'll get a good idea of where current prices are.
