Anyone here tie flies for fly fishing?

Actually, this is a totally model related idea.

I was googling lastnight and found a fotki site with a photo of a penny with a couple of flies on it and it led to a step by step. I am not into fly fishing, but I do fish.

I got an idea! I would like to know if anyone here ties flies? If you do....have you thought about making 1/25 scale raccoon tails for hot rod antennas? I am willing to bet that

an experienced person could make a realistic tail!

Yes I am aware that DL makes a tail, or at least did for awhile....he's a buddy....but I think that after looking at this photo the coon tail could be done with even more realism. (no offense DL if ya read this, I still think you rock!)

This is really tiny, but if something can be done this small...

I like that idea Bob. I thought about tryin ta make some a while back but like a lot of my thoughts it just sorta left me and I couldn't find it. Being from West Virginia I can remember a lot of cars with fox, coon and squirrel tails tied to the antennas.

Yeah, I think back to that cartoon with the little hot rod that was trying to impress his dad....remember that? He got all souped up and had a coon tail hehe! I want to add that touch to some of my models.

LOL. That's a good one. My grandson and me watch it a couple of mos. ago on tv. That's all we used to do before he started kindergarten. Now I'm all alone and have to go back to workin on models again. Sure miss spendin time with that little bugger.
