samm1970 Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 I've been using HANDITAK for years to attach small/smallish parts to plastic rods, skewers etc... to spray paint them. Here's my problem lately after painting the part there appears to be a faint "oily" spot in the paint after it dries.I've never had this issue before and was wondering if anyone else had similar problems. The pack I'm using I've only had for a month or so.Dou you guy's think it's a bad batch or maybe they changed the formula?I'm at a loss here, any suggestions, hints or comment would be welcomed. Thank's Sam Ps, If your not familiar w/ Handitak it's the yellow stretchy stuff that can hang up posters, notes et....

Harry P. Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 I've never used the stuff so I can't comment on it... however, if you're talking about attaching small parts to bits of sprue to use as a handle while you paint the part(s), there are better ways to go. A small loop of masking tape works, or my personal favorite: I use a tiny drop of CA to glue the part in a spot that won't be seen after assembly to a length of scrap sprue. After the paint dries I just snap the part off. Works great, and the sprue makes a great parts holder for painting.
