whats the best thiner for nail polish...paint thiner or lacquer thinner...thank you

Buck, I use lacquer thinner when I thin nail polish. I have never tried paint thinner for thinning it. I try for about a 1:1 or a 2:1, mix thinner to paint, depends on the nail polish I am using. You are going to have to experiment a bit with your mix to get it right. It took me awhile to get my mix and consistencies down right. hope this helps. Mageckman

What he said, plus nail polish is transclucent, so you either need a base coat similar in color, or build up quite a few layers to get your color.
