outlaw035 Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 ok for some unknown reason all of a sudden several of my spray can nozzles are clogging...i did a search here but didnt find anything as usual when i search...is there any way i can clear them...i tried soaking them in laquer thinner...using a pin or neddle to try to open them up with no luck...also can u buy replacement nozzles anywhere??? thanks...
diymirage Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 well, the thinner/needle aproach usually works for me but you have just discovered the #1 reason i save the nozzles when i throw out the empty can must have a drawe full of them also, make sure you clean them by holding the can upside down and spraying it (without shaking it ofcourse) untill you dont see paint coming out anymore
showrodfreak Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Use your compressor blower to clean after you let it set in thinner. Works for me
torinobradley Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I don't know if they still do but the HELP! line of parts in the auto parts shops used to have a small pack of about 6 or 8 nozzles. I used to buy them all the time but haven't really needed them that much since I learned about inverting and clearing the tubes of paint (spray upside down until no paint comes out). Another tip, if you paint has been sitting for some time, make sure you shake the bejeevers out of it... Learned that one the "have to go buy another can of paint even though this one has never been used" way...
Jon Cole Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Testors nozzles? What color nozzles? I know of someone who says the Testors white nozzles are junk... use their black nozzles.
