Dale Jr. 2001 july daytona winner **FINISHED**

Hey all, My name is Ray and i'm an amature builder trying to build like the pro guys haha well im a huge dale jr. fan and i love building nascar models so here are a few pics from my current build i hope you enjoy and please give me feed back and tips!! i'd greatly appreciate it!!! body work is coming along will have pics soon!

finished with my first more serious build. im a huge dale earnhardt jr. fan so this car has a lot of meaning to me.

there are still some things i'll tinker with cause in my mind it wont ever be totally finished lol

i hope you enjoy and for my fellow nascar fans i hope it brings back good memories....(i was going to do the "raced" version

but i didnt want to mess up this build...maybe in a year or so i'll add raced details)

just a shot of the DEI engine. i searched for pictures of this engine to try and replicate the real thing.

rear springs i made from soddering wire then just painted them yellow. gives it a way more realistic feeling then the stock kit springs

thank you! the body has been painted now im just waiting for some hobby time to apply the decals and put the finished "race version" details on it!! new pictures will be up soon! im learning as i go along with different paint jobs

It´s me again just for ask you how yo make the spoiler on the roof, but my dought is if the spoiler come´s with the model kit or you hand made using a sheet of styrene?? and another question why you dont use the decals for the windows the red ones?? or you simple want them painted.

Hey friend, im good. hope all is well with you! i hand made the spoiler with thicker sheet styrene and if you're talking about the red decals that usually go on the back window i painted them yellow to match the reference pictures i had plus i've had problems in the past where those decals would peel off so with a steady hand you cant paint them fine. thanks for lookin again!
