1320wayne Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Or anyone else who can appreciate this style of building. This Thanksgiving weekend was the Turkey Rod Run, here in Daytona Beach. It is held at the speedway each holiday and continues to grow every year. Somewhere over 5,000 cars on site this year. I work in retail so it's nearly impossible for me to find any time to get away from my job to get to the speedway to check out all of the cars. But, there is a shopping center, on the beachside, that is right across from the events host hotel that packs in the cars all weekend long and it's not far from my job so I was able to get away for a lunch break and shoot a few pictures. O.k., the reason for the post was to show two very interesting vehicles on site. A variation on the rat rod theme. It's a rat rod VW, done up in what appears to be natural metal. The symetrical flames on the hood were amazing as they were done in rust. I'm still trying to figure that one out. The second vehicle is a rat rod style bus. I'm not sure where the body came from but the front end appears to be 32 Ford. Both were drawing lots of attention and it was very difficult to get close enough for photos.
Corvette.Jeff Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 those are pretty cool, that bus, like you said, is a 32' ford bus, a school bus i believe. Im going on a hunch though, there was one for sale locally a while back. that vw is pretty cool also, some guys go as far as chopping the top on them, shaving the fenders, stretching the front end out and installing a four link suspension type thing. they make great hot rods
