diymirage Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 hey guys , it looks like i will be getting a resin hood here pretty soon when i do i want to ad a hoodscoop to it that will be scrathcbuild out of styrene how do i attach the styrene to the resin ? and what are the pitfalls i need to look for when working with resin ? thanks guys
Harry P. Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 CA or epoxy. Pitfalls? Resin is fairly brittle, more so than styrene... so be careful when sanding or filing. Don't get too forceful.
Porky Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Super glue would be the quickest way to join the plastic and resin, 5 min epoxy would be the strongest. Either will work.

bobss396 Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 I like the thicker CA gels for attaching resin pieces. Sometimes the epoxy doesn't set up as hard and as fast as I like. Bob
Modelmartin Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 The best epoxy out here is JB Weld. It is way stronger than Devcon 5-Minute.
