Forrest Gump Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 I just want to tell everyone that I bit the bullet and first bought the Model Painting DVD. My painting sucked. Thanks to this DVD I now have an excellent technique for painting. It is ###### near full proof if you follow the step by step. The painting technique can be seen on every model that I have posted here. So, Donn then comes out with a two DVD set on building and detail. I am always hungry for more tips but, I have alot of techniques of my own. So, I finally go and buy the set. All I can say is that if you are a model builder of any level up to the level of Batson, Thibedeau, Kemp, you should buy this. every begginner should but these videos. You will save alot of money. I am not paid or in the business what so ever. I just want to give a huge hint to all of the frustrated model builders out there which I am one.
Hillbilly Deluxe Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Forrest is exactly right!!! Do yourself a favor and get a copy of these DVDs!!! Donn covers it all, from painting to BMF and anything else you might wish to do better. Thanks for sharing Old Man!!! John

Jeff Sauber Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 http://www.oldmansmodels.com/ Go Direct!! Thanks for posting the link. Those are some awesome models by Donn.
Shewolf Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I have watched Donn's DVDs numerous times and find his instruction very easy to follow. I am new to the modeling world and built my first model this year. I entered it into the Pittsburgh Three Rivers Auto Modelers show and won 1st place in curbside. I credit my win with what I learned on the DVDs. I am looking forward to finishing my Camaro with a little more detail and hope to enter it into a different class at the NNL East 2010. Donn's DVDs can be purchased thru his website www.OldMansModels.com Kathie
pharr7226 Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 I have the first DVD, but not the new one. I plan to purchase it soon. Donn is very cool. I emailed a couple of questions to Donn about his technique after viewing the DVD and he promply gave me great answers. You will see him give helpful advice here and on other sites. I also encourage newbies, like me, to purchase the DVDs.
RodBurNeR Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Forrest....hmm is it possible there is a real Gump? Please put your name in your signature line, sorry but it's a rule here. Thanks for the heads up on the DVD.
Forrest Gump Posted December 5, 2009 Author Posted December 5, 2009 Forrest....hmm is it possible there is a real Gump? Please put your name in your signature line, sorry but it's a rule here. Thanks for the heads up on the DVD. I have been all over the site and cannot find where I put my personal signature. Being that I have been on the site for more than a few months, I wonder why this all of a sudden becomes an issue whereas there are other replies from other members that do not garner the same attention? My name is Doug Froh. Are you a moderator? I did not find that on your reply to me.

meaneyme Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 There's only one thing I can't believe, did it really take him 46 years to develop this system? I don't think it takes more than 1 for a real car.
cotto Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 There's only one thing I can't believe, did it really take him 46 years to develop this system? I don't think it takes more than 1 for a real car. I thought he went overboard with that also but he does have a nice DVD. I think I will save my money though, there is a lot of great advice here in the forum also.
