Towmaster Dave Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 I started this project several months ago, It was an experiment using a Wood burner knife to chop a plastic model. I got A 40 Ford Sedan from a model show last may and started it and then it stalled for a couple months. This is the first body and chop I did. A month ago I started back into this but wanted to make some changes. So with some spare bodies I chopped another Sedan. This time I added about a 1/4 inch length to the rear of the body and rear fenders. I also got a nice Resin big block ford engine from a friend with some nice resin Milodon tall valve covers. To go along with the big block I am using the twin Paxton Superchargers from the Surf Woodie kit I asked about in the general section. Thanks for Looking, Dave.
Jason Vandergriff Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 looking good so far. I was worried about the extra rear length but i like it.
Fletch Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Looking good Dave, for your first chop it's looking great. Looking forward to seeing it at one of the upcoming events in the PNW next year.
CB Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Too Kool Dave! This is gonna look awesome all smoothed up and painted! The extra length and stance really make this stand out! Keep it up
Towmaster Dave Posted December 14, 2009 Author Posted December 14, 2009 (edited) The front fenders were cut open a little more by someone else, since these pics were taken i have fixed these back to stock openings, Also triing to decide if I Should maybe lengthen the front fenders a little, havent decided for sure on that. I didn't like the way the stock body looked in the rear, it kinda looked like the angle fell off at the bottom, thats the main reason for the exttension of the body. Also plan on opening the doors suicide and scratch building most of the interior. Hopefully it will be done before the PSAMA show in Puyallup in early May. Thanks for the kind comments, Dave Edited December 14, 2009 by Towmaster Dave
