Zoom Zoom Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 A fairly reliable source indicates that Tamiya's next 1/24 scale car kit will be the Lexus LFA supercar. See information here I guess we'll know for sure in the spring, but he generally has been spot-on with his information. The styling is a bit odd, but I sure like this a lot better than another old Falcon
Nick F40 Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Oh boy oh boy oh boy, that should be the REAL godzilla, heck with the GT-R, that I consider Japan's new supercar.
Jon Cole Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I Google imaged the Lexus FLA, this is (at least) the FLA's second update? Is this the car being referred to?
Rob Hall Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I Google imaged the Lexus LFA, this is (at least) the LFA's second update? Is this the car being referred to? Yes...and IIRC, it's priced over 3x more than the GT-R, so it better be an incredible performer.
Rob Hall Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Interesting...also on that site it says Fujimi will be doing the Prius and HS250h...but the years are odd...since the '08 is the 2nd gen Prius, not the new '10 3rd gen...

The photo from the hobby show of the Prius is the '10 bodystyle.
charlie8575 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I always thought they used wooden bucks as masters? Or is that that plaster-plastic stuff they use for rapid prototyping or clay like a real car styling exercise is made with? Charlie Larkin
PatRedmond Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I'd rather see a Citroen C4 WRC rally car.
charlie8575 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I think I'd buy one.... Tie a rope to it and use it as the dinghy behind a Monogram '59 Cadillac! Say....where'd that "all the evil things we'd do to a Prius model" thread go? Charlie Larkin
Nick F40 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I'd rather see a Citroen C4 WRC rally car. well yeah
Zoom Zoom Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 I'd rather see a Citroen C4 WRC rally car. No kidding. Heller was supposed to do one, but it never materialized....and I think Heller is Tango Uniform.
Modelmartin Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 OK, Guys! behind the Prius pattern is a Fujimi instruction sheet with a picture of the Gozzy Garage Porsche 935 K3. OMFG!!!! Does anyone know about this? Is it going to come out? That is the coolest 935 and there are dozens of variations of it. I have a couple of the Scale Coachworks kits but having a Fujimi would be great!!!
PatRedmond Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 No kidding. and I think Heller is Tango Uniform. I better stock up on Xsaras then.......
Rob Hall Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 A PRIUS? Really? Prius? BAH HUMBUG! I'm actually looking forward to that one. Nice to see some ordinary, everyday modern cars kitted, in addition to performance cars, luxury cars, etc. Probably will be only RHD, though..Fujimi usually doesn't do LHD.

seeker589 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Oh boy oh boy oh boy, that should be the REAL godzilla, heck with the GT-R, that I consider Japan's new supercar. Nick - I hate to tell you but the GT-R never could live up to its hype. The Corvette ZO6 is faster and costs less. The magazine test cars were ringers with factory tuning. Owners that haven't been able to duplicate the numbers are quite ticked-off. Being a GRM reader you should be thinking about how to go faster for much less money. Like a C5 Vette with some turbos and some suspension work. I bet someone could make a car that is a better all-around performer than the GT-R for one third of the money! AND it would be cooler! Nick - I just think that the more technology you put into a car - the more that can go wrong and it takes away from the driving experience. This is why the MkII Ford Escort is so popular with vintage rally racers - no computers, carbs, and rear-wheel-drive without traction control.
Modelmartin Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 1:18 Diecast. 'nuff said WAAAAAAA! It was too good to be true. It occurred to me mid-day at work that it might have been one of those little 1/28th or whatever racers they make.
