Guest zebm1 Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 I got to thinking about your story concerning tha Attempt 1 kit that you worked on for Revell. Now that kit came out somewhere around 1963/4 which would've made you a 20-ish Hi-roller already designing models. Sooooo.... I've been cleaning out my closets lately and moving stuff out to my outside storage shed, my daughters are gonna X-mas present me with newly painted interior walls, they choose tha colors. Anyway....I found two boxes of Revell car kits, Copyrighted 1958. They are the FORD Fairlane and CHRYSLER New Yorker Customizing Kits. (still have tha models but they have seen much better days...I was only 9 yrs old). Now I'm supposing that you didn't have anything to do with these kits Bob, but while re-reading tha Instruction Sheets I noticed on tha last page an Entry Form to a model car contest. The Contest was called "PROJECT IDEAS" CONTEST, so I was wondering Bob, did you enter Revell's model car contest and is that how your Career as a Styrene Pioneer got started? Ahhh, just to be historically correct, It was tha Revell - Motor Trend Magazine Model Car Contest. Closing Date for tha contest was Dec. 31, 1959. I hope that yur feeling alright Bob. (12/27/06) another view of mah faveorite Lincoln....... I believe this is tha kit I was talking about in tha other post ('58 lincoln).
