Simon Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 (edited) Really impressive trucks, Richard. Three gravel trailers, I can't even find one! I have thought of trying a Revell/Italeri Australian truck myself, how did it go together? Were the extra parts (diesel tanks, air snorkels etc) included in the kit? Did you find it to be a good kit? mardtrp Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 (edited) the head ache rack on the Western star it was scratch built by me from a pics I saw in the internet . Any chance of showing the picture you got the design of the headache rack from? Did you change the wheelbase, from how it came in the kit, to what is actually allowed on Australian roads? OK, the models are allright, but if you had taken a look at the Western Star Australia site, then you might have noticed that when a vehicle is right hand drive, the windscreen wipers are positioned differently and sweep in the opposite arc, than what a left hand drive vehicle does. http://www.westernstar.com.au/wstar_au/gallery.asp?id=4800 If anybody else is going to do an Aussie Western Star, here is the link and all relevant information is freely available, to turn one of these models into something that can be found out on Australian roads. http://www.westernstar.com.au/wstar_au/index.asp mark Edited January 19, 2010 by mardtrp
fridge2538 Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Most model manufacturers of truck kits forget to change the wipers to the right hand drive position when they do a right hand drive version. It is usually an easy job to correct the fault with some filler and a dremel type tool. Thanks Tony.
