Guest Sickfish Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Lol! You're a funny guy Brad! Thanks mate! The GTX's colour is by HOK, Hot pink pearl. Cheer's Cliff!
stangman Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Cliff this cuda looks great. Im not a MOPAR guy but hey what can I say!!
whale392 Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 I grew up Mopar.........and still have massive love for the Mid-60s B-Bodies, followed by the A-Bodies. These builds are looking great. Be proud....I sure would be.
Guest Sickfish Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 (edited) hi guys! Sorry it's been awhile since my last update but the real world has a tendency to get in the way sometime's! Anyhow, first i apologize for the poor quality pics, as my regular digital camera has packed it in & i took these pics with my mobile phone camera, which is only 2megapixel I have done more work on both the Barra' & GTX, the interiors are done & the motors are drying, waiting to be put together. The bumpers are on & i also fabbed up some exhaust pipes for the Barra. ( considering there isn't any supplied in the kit ) Here's the latest with the Barra. Re-did the rear tailight panel in BMF... Cheer's Cliff! ( managed to get better pics, before i lowered the front end ) Edited January 30, 2010 by Sickfish
whale392 Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Well Cliff........thanks to your build of the 69 Cuda, I had to go overpay for a 'Cuda I already had in my collection (I think anyway; I am in Ohio and most of my kits are in Florida) just so I could build one. Of course mine will NOT be on the calibre yours is (mostly as I am building it fairly stock). Thanks for the inspiration to start but never finish yet another kit!!
Guest Sickfish Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Lol!! Well Brad...you do see the container holding 2 "stalled" projects??? & whose fault do you think that is?? Lol!! I guess we both got tickets on that great big cargo ship, the Titanic!! Cheer's mate & enjoy building your Barracuda!! Post some pics ok! Cliff!
whale392 Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Heck Cliff, I have enough stalled projects to fill the hull of the Edmund Fitzgerald (as a matter of fact, I think it would have been better for me if they had've gone down with the ship!). I got the Green I will use for my 'Cuda yesterday, and am scrounging around for a donor chassis (as I have a much better detailed 383 to go into it and the chassis plate is typical MPC of the time). Keep up this build; hopefully it will spur me on to actually finish a model this year (or any year for that matter!).
Guest Sickfish Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Lol!! I hear ya Brad!! As far as i know, apparently the chassis from the AMT Duster/Demon make's a great donor chassis?? I just couldn't be bothered to use it, as i stated early on in the thread, because i actually wanted to finish a model this year!! What green have you got for your Barra mate, sassy grassy?? sublime?? Cheer's Cliff!
whale392 Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Cliff; I am thinking that Dark Green Metallic Mopar had with a green interior and the Kelsey-Hayes recall wheels......but my '70 SuperBee and the '71 KPGC10 have to be finished first. Then I have the '30 Ford Woodie and a '79 Capri TurboRS to finish as well. She is in line, but it looks to be a long holding pattern.
ScrappyJ Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 That is some really nice work there, Cliff! And your paint is crazy nice!
Guest Sickfish Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Hi guys!! Sorry about the long wait but the 'Cuda is finally finished!!! I'm not overly happy about it, it's not my best work by far, not helped by a fairly under- par kit but as I mentioned early on I never intended to do a high detailed build ;-) Hope you like it & cheers, Cliff!
whale392 Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Well Cliff....you do better work with sub-par kits that I do with superior detailed kits! I couldn't pour water out of a boot with the directions printed on the heel, and you can lay down sexy paint without thinking about it.....remind me later to scoff at your 'lesser' works (will never happen!). Now, where are the pics?
71datsun1200 Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 (edited) That's one bad ass cuda. i really like the wheels you used. Edited February 11, 2010 by 71datsun1200
Guest Sickfish Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Yeh hey guys sorry about no pics attached, am using my iPhone & can't upload pics, as my laptop has kicked the bucket & can't afford a new 1 just yet. I'll get 'em up next time I'm over my girl's place. Cheers Cliff.
whale392 Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Sure Cliff.............lead us on and then nothing! Pics or it didn't happen!
Guest Sickfish Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Hi guys...finally made it over to my girl's place.... here's the finished pics
whale392 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 That is, in fact, VERY nice. One thought though; with the interior being totally White, it kind-of blends all into itself and looks washed out compared to the rest of the car.
Guest Sickfish Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Hey thanks Brad! Doesn't the dash being black count?? Lol!! Mate i really didn't make a huge effort with this kit, i f i did i'd be working on it for another year!! Cheers Cliffo!
whale392 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Believe me Cliff, I understand (and am a victim myself!). It is a dang nice looking build though...........I would proudly claim that if it were mine.
71datsun1200 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 It looks perfect!!!!by the way are those wheels from the concept camaro snap kit? i've been wanting to get a set for my 69 nova but i'm unsure what the fit will be like.
Guest Sickfish Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Brad.... Will....they sure are mate... Cheers guys!
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Nice job, Cliff! This one gets the MPC Motorsports seal of approval.
