I have a question what 57 chevy convertible was the best to build, and if there werent any good ones, what can i use to cut the roof off of one also did any of them come with a continential kit, thanks

In 1/24-1/25 scale, there has never been a 57 Chevy convertible produced by the model companies.

That seems a HUGE oversight! Uh oh.... I think Revell's just stumbled on the latest 'hit' off the 150 Black Widow tool...

So far pretty much all 1/25-24 '57 Chevy kits ever released suck. One way or the other. For some odd reason, the '57 Chevy seems to be tough to capture correctly. There are cars like this, for example the beetle and the 59 Caddy, too. Nobody seems to be able to ever get them right.

If you want to model a ragtop, then I assume you mean Bel Air. My bet for a body is on the Revell snapfast plus (Schnaps Fass plus, for our German speaking readers), which is still rubbish, but better than the sorry efforts which preceded it during the past 50 odd years. Whack off the roof, open the bonnet, and use the underpinnings from the 55 convertible you are going to butcher anyway. Oh, and don't forget the sunvisors. Convertibles without sunvisors look stupid. The passenger side one should have a little mirror.

The reason iam interested is because i want to make the car on a movie i love watching, some people might not remember the movie but the star drove it. The movie is called Eddie and the Cruisers, thank you for the info

I'm old enough to remember the movie. The car was tropical turquoise, had a continental kit and a NuVue spotlight mirror.

Well Junkman, I've got to disagree with you. I seen and even built some nice '57 Chevy models over the years. They might not be perfect but, with the exception of the original Monogram with the too short roof and distorted body, they are extremely workable. And I take offense at your "covertibles without sun visors look stupid" remark. I, for one, think they look downright "race-y".

I might get shot for this, but one of the guys in our club does some resin stuff and he was working on a '57 Conv. with a continential kit. I'm not sure what his plans are for it but you see it what he has done so far on it here

Still, wouldn't a '57 Bonneville or Olds...heck, even a Buick have been a bit more interesting than the Black Widow/150 kit? I'm glad this kit is out there for those who want it, but I'd like '50's GM cars BESIDES Chevys being kitted!

While I was thrilled to get the 150, I also would be just as thrilled with that '57 Bonneville or a 5-6-7 Oldsmobile!
