mustangman
I built this a few years ago and I don't think many people realized just how nice this particular kit really is and can still be found for a song..... CAL
I don't know why it didn't fly, the stock version is really a pretty nice kit, the ProShop kit was a cut above, the Street Machine just didn't make a whole lot of sense. Looks good. I did my in the same color or close. Boyd Burnt Orange. Edited February 15, 2010 by CAL

nails3825
wow! What scale is that? It looks HUGE ~ or just a very well done kit, lifelike
Steven Zimmerman
Very nice, clean build!..I think the street machine version made a LOT of sense;it represented a 'back halved ' car, which was what a lot of 1/1 builders were doing at the time. The only thing I felt was 'off' was the lack of tube headers. BTW,I have about 15 of these in my stash, one of the best frames out there for 50's cars. Pretty much a drop in for trucks of that era too,and the wheelbase is easily adjustable, because the frame rails are parallel..........'Z'
Guest
wow! What scale is that? It looks HUGE ~ or just a very well done kit, lifelike It's AMT's newer tool 1/25 Chevy. Nice work!
mustangman
It's AMT's newer tool 1/25 Chevy. Nice work! Thank you fella's,I never really did understand why this one never really took off and your right Steve, I won't complain when I can find these for 7 to 10.00,If anything it is great for parts too,I never thought about it fitting the pick ups,You gave me some food for thought,God Bless,............... Steven Zimmerman
Sharp looking build,btw.... This illustrates just how nice this kit is. It looks to me like the only items Randy added to the stock kit were wheels, tires,an air cleaner, and some skillfull detailing....Other than that,(from what I can see)....everything you see, comes in the box!I'm a kit bash builder; most of the stuff I do has parts from MANY other kits (lotta resin too ) and this kit is the closest i've ever come to building box stock....(Can't live with the wheels/tires,tho.......)......Steve Zimmerman aka the'Z'man.... Guest Gramps-xrds
You're right, those were really nice kits. I built one a few yrs ago. the only thing I didn't like about it was, it's slightly out of scale for 1/25th. When you put it beside AMTs original 57, you can really see the difference. So mine just sits in the box now.
Railfreak78
Beautiful! I Love that color and wheels choice is primo! One of the best looking 57's I've seen!
