So I have decided to start work on a recent purchase of AMT’s 1960 Corvette kit which is a reproduction of the original MPC kit. The kit boasts one of seven different ways it can be built so lots of custom and goody parts to add to my supplies. My plan is to not build at all like any of the seven different ways the kit advertises but to instead do kind of a mild custom or weekend cruiser look with updated brakes and wheels. What I have done so far is

Body:

-re-scribed all panel lines and sanded emblems and handles off

-still need to do more bondo work

-final color will be red and white I don’t yet have a red Vette so I feel I am missing out.

Chasis:

-Painted and weathered as necessary as this is not a factory stock or show car

-added in extra front end components as they were not included in the kit

So that’s my progress to date comments and suggestions are appreciated and welcomed.

So I have changed direction with the paint choice on this one opting to use up some paint I have first. The paint is medium quasar blue by duplicolour. Comments and suggestions welcome.post-5684-12690300746572_thumb.jpg

Looking good Jim. I like the choice of blue over the red. Sure, red corvettes look good, but IMO they're all too common. It's nice to see them in other colors. The late 50's/ early 60's 'vettes are my favorite.Keep it going!
