I just got my nephew into models.

I got him a pair of Tamiya 1/32 Mini 4WD vehicles; a Jeep and a Mammoth Dump Truck. They are motorized, snap together kits. I helped him put them together. He had lots of fun doing that and of course playing with them.

Maybe I should have gotten some of those for my nephew. I got him some 1/32 scale snap kits and once he got them built he took off to play with them and about 5 mins later he had broken wheels off of both cars..

But he had fun building them.

They are never too young to start learning about the mechanics of things. Good for you to take the time to show him, You both will remember it for years to come. My uncle helped me build my first models.
