hawkeye649 Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 (edited) I bought this model a while back because my 'main' project was getting tedious (very detailed/from scratch) so I wanted to do something FUN! Right now I can't decide if I should put in the V8 from my Mad Mudder kit (under the hood). This would basically mean only leprechauns could drive it, technically. What I am leaning towards is a transplant from this; That is a diecast, but I have the 1:24 revelle kit. I started that *years* ago when I was about 12 or so - lost interest in these types of cars for the most part. Figure with a rear-engine, the driver's feet could extend into the "engine bay". In any event I'm not really worried about reality, just made something that looks like something a kid would draw. Let me know what you think, especially suggestions. hawkeye649 Posted February 22, 2010 Author Posted February 22, 2010 Looks like it's moving, at least to me!
scaleautobuilder Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 very cool looking, are you going to rat rod it out?
hawkeye649 Posted February 23, 2010 Author Posted February 23, 2010 very cool looking, are you going to rat rod it out? No I'm still thinking about that. I'm thinking of a clean DD custom type of truck. Deep blue (maybe 2 tone?). I'm already thinking I need to just make a frame from scratch. I think I should be able to get the frame scrapin' on the ground. The engine specs are kinda modest though - # Max Power: 520 PS (382 kW; 513 hp) @ 8000 rpm # Max Torque: 347 lb·ft (470 N·m) @ 6500 rpm Still the best option I have for it. Maybe a twin turbo setup?
Mooneyzs Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Very Cool so far. I like where this is going
hawkeye649 Posted February 24, 2010 Author Posted February 24, 2010 Dang gum kids put mah Ferrari engine inta a truck!
