Nick Winter Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 I just started into this truck I'm building it as a drag truck, what is this engine to me it looks like a 302 but being a GM/ Mopar boy I'm illiterate to Fords.
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Nick, I think it is a big block Chevy but I'm not sure.
Nick Winter Posted March 6, 2010 Author Posted March 6, 2010 Nick, I think it is a big block Chevy but I'm not sure. ok thanks Marc seems like a stupid place to leave a chevy though.
Nick Winter Posted March 6, 2010 Author Posted March 6, 2010 so it is a Big block chevy? if it is I think I'll replace it with a 302 or 351
Nick Winter Posted March 6, 2010 Author Posted March 6, 2010 It is a BBC. MPC used the same chassis & drivetrain under their flipnose 53 Ford PU & their 57 Chevy flipnose kits. Not a stupid idea at all. Back in the 70s, a lot of people built 1/1 Gassrer style street machines with the same kind of chassis & that engine combo. There were shops that made similar chassis that different bodies fit on like MPC did. ok thank you mark, i never said it was stupid just odd, Guess I'll run what I brung.
diymirage Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 ok thanks Marc seems like a stupid place to leave a chevy though. chevy engine is the best thing to do if you have a ford mill and you cant get a hemi
