FordRodnKustom Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Up next on my bench continuing on with my vintage box art builds. This will be more of a restoration, sympathetic to the box art. Here's my basic kit, as delivered from ebay. Hard to believe but it was a good deal(cheap} about a year ago. Complete except for the radiator grill. I pulled it all apart and sent some of the chrome out for re plating. Looks good. An outstanding set of repro decals from Greg Holland. Thanks Greg! The stubborn 40 year old decals floated off after a few hours in Westley's Ready to start the resto When finished it should look something like this. My goal is to use a many of the original parts as possible. I picked up one of these to fill in any parts I need (same basic kit). Hoping to preserve a piece of modeling history. I love this stuff!
jbwelda Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 was that 30 ford touring a later reissue of the red chariot? i have one in similar condition that i have in the queue for rebuilding so it would be great to find a source for some replacement parts! im sure you will have fun with the restoration, i always do!

streetrodnut72 Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 You should also check out Revell's repop of the Model A touring. It has a nicely improved small block (separate starter and oil filter, but basically the same as the early ironer). It also has separate door handles and an additional light bar option. These would go nicely with the red chariot impo. I thought I would suggest that to you. I will be watching this build with great interest. BTW, my name is Ken.

I need to add one(or two or three) of those new issues to my stash.
