Car Crazy 81 Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I'd got a bag 'o' decals from a club member from last nights club meeting. What can i use to salvage these decals these were from the 60's these are some cool looking decals. Any Suggestions Please!
charlzrocks Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I always spraycoat ALL of my decals with Rustoleum Clear Enamel before I use them. The first model I built since I was a kid was Beatnik Bandit and the decals disintegrated when they hit the water. I had to find the original artwork and use inkjet decal paper and spraycoat it with the clear. I will avoid having to go thru that in the future just by clear coating them first, even if it is a new kit. Only downside is that you can over do it with the clear. You also have to cut quite close to the artwork before dunking them in water. but, Better safe than sorry!
diymirage Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 charles nailed it altough i use testors decal setter which is basically just a clear doat aswell
