RatRod Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I had started this build some 16 years ago using the Blueprinter double dragster kit, so I figured that it was time to finish it. It's straight out of the box, no added detail, just paint. Some times these old kits just look better that way, and I also tried for that old box art feel. I used buffing metalizers, and the paint on the body is cheap pearl fingernail polish!!!
caine440 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Great looking build! Love the the wheels and colors. Super clean and sharp.
Mooneyzs Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 This is sure a beauty and it turned out great. Nice and clean. Job well done.
Modlbldr Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Wow! I like that. It came out very clean and looks great. What metalizers did you use on the wheels? Later-

Dragline Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 That is killer. It almost looks like it has more detail than you say. It tricks the eye. Very nice. Bob

Fuel Coupe Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 i really like this build. those old sling shots look great built and you did a fine job. I woul like to pick your bt=rain on how you finished the parachute.
Eshaver Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 Fine job , fine job young man , keep up the good work Ed Shaver
RatRod Posted March 14, 2010 Author Posted March 14, 2010 I really would like to pick your brain on how you finished the parachute. No problem Shane, after priming, and painting with Krylon semi flat black, I used a soft 1/4" wide brush, and dry brushed the chute pack with some steel paint to bring out the details, then shot some dullcoat over it.....simple stuff. Thanks for all the reply's fellas!!!
rustybill1960 Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Sweet little build there Dude! I got one of those as a re-builder from my new york model supplier, did it up in purple pearl and painted "Goofy Grape" across the cowl. Nice smooth paint man, finger nail polish huh? Might have to try that sometime, huh, on the model . . . . Thanks for sharing! Later Russ
