old-hermit Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 I haven't done much since Christmas because of the weather and personal obligations but I started this the other day and thought I'd let y'all take a look. I'm turning this ... ... into this. It's been a real challenge and there is a BUNCH of work left to do but it's getting closer. Heres some progress pics to see how I did it. http://public.fotki.com/old-hermits-garage/8thscalemodels/29-five-window-wip/ I'm also going to build a pickup body so I cast the cowl for a starting point. .
LDO Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Wanna sell another copy of that cowl??? I'd love to have a couple of those.
old-hermit Posted March 15, 2010 Author Posted March 15, 2010 Wanna sell another copy of that cowl??? Sorry, not being greedy but I have no intention of casting any for distribution. I didn't master it and I don't have the original creators permission. I also don't plan on casting the coupe or pickup. I can't afford it.
old-hermit Posted March 18, 2010 Author Posted March 18, 2010 Since a 29's door skin closes on top of the body instead of flush like a 32 I made the doors in three layers. An inner door shell with the window molding ... an inner frame ... and an outer skin. It still needs a little filling and sanding around the window molding but I'm pleased with it. .
arick Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Nice work Al. I wonder how many of us would have noticed the inaccuracy if you'd flush fit the doors............
old-hermit Posted March 21, 2010 Author Posted March 21, 2010 How about an East coast style, unchopped, hiboy with a carbureted 351 ?????
