DanielG Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 This conversion is based on the HWY61 mid-pumper firetruck. The middle pump section was cut out and the truck shortened. The tank and hose box was custom built and mounted on the chassis and the ladder rack built from brass and bolted on. The pump was made from milliput and brass and aluminum and the frame extension made from brass strip and the pump and bumper bolted to it. Various other details (such as the nozzle mounted on the step, suction-hose, fire-hose and connections etc.) were made from whatever would do the job and give the look required. This model now sits in the Chiefs office at the firehall. It is probably the most ambitious project undertaken so far.
