my 70 chevelle ss Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Hi, Thank you all for the GREAT advice I mean that as I'm lost today with all the stuff out there. So I am going to buy those optivision but right now this model is breaking me so bought a pair of cheap reading glasses I can see them now. I want to try polishing the Camaro script first. It says on the directions that I can use super glue don't understand this but am not sure what your talking about Future? or Gloss paint? to mount them. But what I would really like to know is do I put them on before I clear coat the car or after? & if you can tell me a little more about what I mount them with? I'm sorry for this so wish me luck I'm going to try to polish the Camar script now. Thank you so much I mean that! Will,
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 You want to put on your photoetched parts after you finish painting the car. If you plan to clear your finish, then after that. Do NOT use super glue as it will fog your paint. Use an acrylic clear paint like Testors Acryl or Tamiya acrylic clear to attach the parts.
Guest Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Like Marc said, but I add that clear enamel will work, as will Future Floor Polish. You will need tweezers as well.
Harry P. Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 You can use Future as a "glue" to attach PE parts, but it's a little on the thin side. I prefer clear acrylic paint, applied with a tiny brush. It's thicker than Future and won't tend to run. Future does, however, make a great floor wax. Or is that a dessert topping? Oh, yeah, it's both! Tastes great... and look at that shine!!!
