These things were built 30 miles from my house when I was a kid. Around here, Peterbilts & Kenworths were considered "girly-man" trucks when I was a kid. Pacifics & Hayes were "it". Best trucks ever were made right here in SW BC. Well, except maybe an old chain drive Sterling...

Great trucks. I have lots of respect for these trucks and the men that both built them and drove them. I have seen many of them in action in the woods on Vancouver Island.

Yes, the Hayes HDX's and Pacific P16's are real monsters, pretty much all you see in the off-road logging applications on Vancouver Island. If the logging Industry ever makes a real comeback around here, I dont know what they are gonna do, with Hayes & Pacific being out of business. When logging went up the pipe, they followed pretty fast. Real shame, an important part of life and an important part of our identity in BC is gone. :o;)
