crazyjim Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 I wanted to try something different and after hearing from some fellow MCM people, figured out a custom rearend. I tried to make the seats look like leather by painting them with Testor's Leather and then put a coat of brown wash over that. Final color will be HOK Root Beer pearl. This is my first shot at seatbelts. Sorry about the water drops. I had just finished some sanding.
Murphy Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Wow ! is that the kit interior for that Cat ? Very cool! You did a fabulous job of detailing and painting it regardless.
Nick Winter Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Jim thanks for passing on that tip, it may come in use.
crazyjim Posted April 16, 2010 Author Posted April 16, 2010 Yeah. I used the optional custom interior from the kit. It would have been nice if the dashboard had better engraving, or maybe I should have cut it out and done something else - next time.
jedimastergary Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Looks like it is going to be a killer build nice detail so far can not wait to see it finished
Ryan S. Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Looking good so far. That interior looks fantastic. I'll be following this one as this is kit is on my radar to pick up and build. Keep it going!
RodneyBad Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Don't touch the Dash. The interior looks Great. Engine looks a bit (a lot) out of focus but I'm sure it looks great too. Looks like ya got some Pegasus tires but I can't tell what wheels your using, yet..
disabled modeler Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Hey Jim....Shes looking good! Nice touch making it look like leather!
