Can you provide some details about the model contest?

Who is running the contest? Have you secured a building in which to have the contest at the Biglerville park? Model car contests can not be set up outside, due to wind, dirt, unstable tables and, of course, direct sun destroys styrene models in a very short time. Will you have constant survailence of the models to prevent touching, breaking and theft?

I'd appreciate some details, please.

Lyle,

Thanks for the questions and the concerns. Sorry that it took an extra day, but I didn't get on line yesterday as I had to work quite late.

I will be running the model contest. The local club that I'm affiliated with (Foothills Plastic Pros in Hickory, NC) has been producing contests for 14 years, so I've received a lot of on-the-job training on most of the aspects of running a show. It will be held in the utility building. I'm planning on bringing some other club members to assist in registration, set up and watching over the models so the contestants can go out and enjoy the 1;1 show.

I hope that this sufficiently answers your questions. If you need more information, please let me know. As I know you realize in running your own show, communication between hosts and contestants is important to make the best possible show for everyone.

Hope to see you there.

Thanks for all the info. So often, people running a 1:1 car show decide to have a model contest and sit a table out in the sun, and think that's all they need.

Obviously, you know what you're doing. Best of luck with the contest. I hope to be there.
