I am working on a build that requires a decal be placed half on the body, half on the windscreen. I would like to clear over the decals and windscreen with TS-13. I usually buff over my decals with the Tamiya compounds after I hit them with the with the clear and I figure the clear will buff transparent on the windscreen, but I just want to see what some of you think first.

Thanks Mark, that's a good point. If the kit came with 1:25 scale vinyl sheets instead of water slides I wouldn't even be playing with the idea.

Don't do it! I just went through this with a Tamiya Porsche 962C. On this model the clear parts a molded in place and because some decals go over part of the clear I could leave the window masks in place and get the decals in place. So I figured I could clear over the whole thing and I wouldn't have to worry about the clear parts. Wrong. Took a lot of sanding to get back to the window plastic and a lot more to get it transparent. Anyway, find an alternative solution.

I like the future dip on window glass that is "just not right" ...dip it slowly so no air bubbles show up set on a rack, wick the corners as needed.....done.

I go back to it the next day and it looks better and smudges buff off w/o scratching...As tamiya clear acrylic is so close to future, I'v gotta believe as Steve

showed...they both work well. Ts13 is a lacquer and will etch the surface to get a bite...can you say frosty???
