Chad Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 is that kit just the 378 with the 377 sleeper on it? or is it a newer style 379 hood with it? I'd buy one if it was an exd hood version but Im afraid to spend 75 bucks to find out. Chad
rronning84 Posted May 14, 2010 Author Posted May 14, 2010 From what I have heard it is basically the same as italeri's original 378 but with the proper sleeper
Semi Trailer Mechanic Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 On the cover of the box is a 379. Under the cover is a 378 w/ the bunk found in the 377 kit.
mackinac359 Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 There is an entire thread about this kit somewhere down the board, but to recap: It IS a 378. Italeri used the photo that was provided only for the decal stripe idea as the box cover photo. The kit is/has: 378 cab and frame. 63" Unibilt stand-up sleeper. Additional chrome tree with grab handles for the sleeper and quarter fenders. Reworked grille eliminating the bug deflector notches. New decal sheet with full stripes, a company name and a correct/accurate instrument panel decal. The suggested retail is $92. Tim On the cover of the box is a 379. Under the cover is a 378 w/ the bunk found in the 377 kit.
cowboysevens Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 hey tim have you biult one of these kits yet? and what mods did you or would you do to it? dennis
mackinac359 Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Funny you should ask.. I have not built the actual kit, but built the 'prototype' to show what the kit should have been and what you get in the kit is what my prototype suggested. I am working on a version of this kit.. combining a resin hood and some parts left over from a 377. I can say, the decal stripes are nice and easy to work with and lay over a dark color perfectly without washing out. Tim hey tim have you biult one of these kits yet? and what mods did you or would you do to it? dennis
