David@MinidreamsInc. Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 This was just a quick curbside build ! Just got this done ! It was a promo i got from Pokey a few years back but now its completed !
dimaxion Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 I am still laughing . I hauled these new and got stuck working on these . Do you know how to change the starter on these heaps ? You have a choice of removing either the Intake Manifold or the brake Master Cylinder . At least you did get a choice . Nice model . One of my classmates was the Plant Manager from whence these came . Just a footnote . Thanx ..
whale392 Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 That is awesome!! Kudos to you for doing something COMPLETELY different. By the way, are those Pegasus wheels, or are they from one of the 'California Wheels' kits?
george 53 Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 But it's a YENKO!!!! It at least needs one a them Tomato can mufflers!!!!! Too COOL! Great execution!
Scalper Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Wow what a neat and cool original build. Great looking model
Daniel Peterson Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 That may be the first good looking Chevette EVER! Great job!
Jeff Sauber Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Imagine how much fun that thing would be with a big block 427-4 speed under the hood.
Rick R Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 (edited) What a neat piece of work! I've done a few magazine features on Yenkos, that one is vary cool (and more fun than most 'real' ones)! Only addition I'd make is a cowl-induction hood and dual exhaust, but havinbg driven a Chevette for a few weeks a long time ago the dual exhaust would just be dead weight... David@MinidreamsInc. Posted May 14, 2010 Author Posted May 14, 2010 That is awesome!! Kudos to you for doing something COMPLETELY different. By the way, are those Pegasus wheels, or are they from one of the 'California Wheels' kits? Neither Whale ! They are from the new revell snap kit i belive its a 1/32 scale kit ! Its the red 2009 mustang on the box ! Being the chevette wheel wells are smaller then the norm these wheels just happen to fit perfect with the opening and still give it a ture and still custom look ! The Pegasus wheels were to larger and the car didn't look right so i started hunting for wheels and found this kit and thought what the heck ! If they don't work my son can build the kit but they works !
whale392 Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Dave, thanks for the info. We had a discussion about that very wheel a short time ago here. They are supposed to be 1/32 scale, but they scaled out to something like 23" wheels in that scale. In 1/24th-1/25th, they came out to be in the 17" range. They are perfect for that build! Awesome work once again!
sigmaman Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Top stuff. Don't believe Don ever turned his hand to one of these. This model makes me wish he had though.
MyBradKeselowski Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Looks Super  Only if Chevrolet/Don Yenko could have produced them...
David@MinidreamsInc. Posted May 15, 2010 Author Posted May 15, 2010 What next? Shelby Pinto? Nope how about a Shelby falcon !
Wheels Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Very Cool! It turned out to be very nice! I took my Driver's Ed in a Chevette. I wish it had been in this one! I would have failed for sure! LOL!
whale392 Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Is that Chevette a full detail kit? It would just cry for a Chevy Cosworth Vega 4cylinder turbo under that hood! Oh, and that Falcon is shaping up to be KILLER!
