edward smith Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Nice vinyl top, there is a guy here, don't remember well, who did a vinyl top using 3M Spray Adhesive and it was quite realistic, not that yours looks bad but he had a very cool technique and mentioned that it was pretty easy to do. I love the green color you chose for this model.
meaneyme Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Yes Edward, that was Marcos Cruz, I remember him posting this little tutorial on here once and luckily I found it, great stuff for replicating vinyl rooftops! Check out the link below. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=27431
LOBBS Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 I have a soft spot for Novas and I'm glad I got to see this one up close at Heartland.
impcon Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 VERY NICE!!!! The colour is eye catching and the vinyl top really does add something extra! I loke the wheels too - how did you get such a realistic look to them? I was in a local hobby shop this past Thursday and looked at this kit and almost bought it. I opted out for something else though and now I am wishing I had bought the Nova. Those Yenko stripes really do look good on those cars... SUre des look good!!!!

The wheels were from the 62 AMT Impala convertible I think. They seem to be the most realistic Torque Thrust style I have seen. I had them chromed then painted the spokes w/ Testors Steel.
