weirich1 Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 A local hobby store in Maumee, OH, is having their going out of business sale. I've been looking for another trailer for my trucks and today my Dad found a few. The owner said that they had brought some kits out of the stores' basement. The trailer my Dad picked up for me is a 1975 release ERTL "Dump Gravel Trailer". The box was in bad shape, had to wipe some dust off no-bagged parts, but it's complete. I was really surprised to see the kit is molded in white; the painting possibilities are endless.
mackinac359 Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Cool find! The original MPC and Ertl issues were molded in white. Was and always will be a great kit. The only problem is the axle-track is too wide. I remove 1/4 inch from the axle on each side to bring the tires in. Otherwise you're looking at about 9 feet in width. The DM600 and DM800 suffer from this too. Simple fixes. Tim
scummy Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 G-day weirich 1, how awsome what a find sometime's you get lucky and find old plastic but it's gettin rare now . Good on ya
SpreadAxle Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 I'm in the proceess of building that very kit right now. It will go with the Autocar that I talked about in another post. My Frame rails were both slightly warped, but when glued together, they came out ok. great kit. I can't wait til i finish mine.
