Sixties Sam Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Wow! Very nice model! Looks like a Mustang should. Good work. Sam
Greg Cullinan Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Jim very nice as usual And of course great subject
crazyjim Posted June 25, 2010 Author Posted June 25, 2010 Thanks guys. Appreciate your kind words. My current projects are a '54 Chevy sedan delivery with a full length moon roof and a '23 track roadster. I'm trying to replicate the real puffy leather interiors of years past by wrapping the leather over a piece of 14 gauge copper wire. It's not going very well.
Guest Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Looks good, how were the decals to work with? Did they lay down well, or were they thick?
crazyjim Posted June 25, 2010 Author Posted June 25, 2010 The decals were very easy to work with and laid down nice with all the Solve-a-set I used. I haven't used decals in a long time so I can't really say they were too thick or too thin. There were a couple of areas (scoop, f & r license plate) that needed more attention and trimming. I did discover that I should have installed the glass before the decals. I use blue tape to hold the glass from the outside when I glue the inside. The tape tends to pull the decal up even after it's dried.
Guest Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Thanks, the fact that you say they laid down well tells me they are thin enough. I have a whiet one with gold stripes and Shelby wheels in the works. Tape almost always will pull up decals.
Guest Johnny Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 I will alway love the styling of the 1st generation Mustang! You made it look just as it should! Great job!
Scalefinishes Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 That turned out nice. The '66 Hertz is a great kit, and a good looking car.
Janne Herajärvi Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Very nice. I like that Black & Gold color combo
LOBBS Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Great looking Mustang. My wife loves the '65-66 fastbacks.
