FASTBACK340 Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Hi guys... just popped in because something came to mind and I have a question. I'm in the process of going through EVERYTHING I own as I pack and move. As I was packing up some modeling supplies I was thinking of how great it's going to be to get back into building now that I'll have the room again. Then I started thinking about building the 1:1 replica of my personal car. In my head I was going through the items I know I have stashed for that future project and then I realized I'm mounting a set of Mickey Thompson drag radials on the car next month. Then I started thinking that I'll have to include a set for the model, but I've never seen a set in scale. Does anyone know if they are, or have been, manufactured by the aftermarket? I'd be looking for 1/25th. scale replicas of 275-60-15" Thanks for any & all help and I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Holiday weekend!
FASTBACK340 Posted July 2, 2010 Author Posted July 2, 2010 there will be some coming. Shucky, one of the members here is working on some that will be done in resin. one of those that i know of will be in a scale 275/60-15 size. Dave Cool. In 6 minutes I had an answer! Thanks Dave. I'll have to stop by more often and keep an eye open. And in my size no less. Swee-eet!
FASTBACK340 Posted February 17, 2011 Author Posted February 17, 2011 Cool. In 6 minutes I had an answer! Thanks Dave. I'll have to stop by more often and keep an eye open. And in my size no less. Swee-eet! Hate to be a pest, but how's the progress on those drag radials? It's been 7 months.... and I bet I'm not the only one anxious to see them either.
shucky Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 John there is still hope on the horizon. I'm a couple weeks away from FINALLY getting samples of my pro touring tires. It's been a long process and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it'll be worth the wait. I'll be keeping the resin catalog small which will allow me time to work on my own projects and keep this being a wonderful hobby for me. The last thing I want to do is turn something I've enjoyed for so many years into what seems like actual work. In order to keep things simple, casting tires for anything other than personal use was out of the question. Soooooo I made the decision to invest time in working with an injection molder to do tires. If all goes well with the pro touring tires, the next design will indeed be the M/T drag radilals. I'm hoping everything goes well so I can finally bring these to market. In other good news, I've heard personally that another resin caster will be coming out with an additional two designs of drag radials! Thanks for being patient and stay hopeful everything pans out.

FASTBACK340 Posted February 20, 2011 Author Posted February 20, 2011 John there is still hope on the horizon....... LOL! No problem. Back in July I said I was mounting a set on my car in August. I just got them yesterday.... Believe me, I'm not building the 1/25th. replica anytime soon. I just want to get them so I have them. I'm sure EVERYONE here can relate to the "acquiring every piece you need for a project" syndrome. Then everything sits in an unmarked box until your estate sale.....
