Hypermung Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 G'day from Australia.. This is my first posting, so I hope I'm doing it right.. I've got a custom project in mind & am in the process of collecting the necessary parts prior to starting... Does ANYONE know of a kit of a Subaru WRX turbo (or similar model), in 1:24 / 1:25 that has a detailed engine & drivetrain?.. The Tamiya kits have good undercarrage detail, but NO engine... & I'm not sure about the Fujimi kits.. Even one in resin?... Other than that, I'll have to procure a die cast model & disect it.... ANY help appreciated. GLENN
Corvette.Jeff Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 the Revell kit has a very well detailed engine that builds up nicely.
B_rad88 Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 (edited) yes, you want the revell kit, but there is still a problem with that flat-4........... the impreza wrx sti's had 2.2l and 2.5l flat-4 engines, but revell molded that flat-4 as the 2.0l! so its the incorrect engine, but it still works! all the fujimi subbie kits are curbside, and i thought i saw a resin engine, but i never found it again, here is a pic of the revell subbie kit you want: Edited July 5, 2010 by B_rad88
made007 Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 (edited) i can do that engine in resin, but i just finished my 4age engine and started on a 2jz engine, so it take me like 1 month to complete the subaru engine, im doing several engines in resin when im finished im gonna post some pics in here so you can see my work, i have toyota 4age 16v and 20v, toyota 2jz, and mazda rotary 13b, im gonna do the ford focus engine, vw bug, and subaru impreza later when i finish the toyota and mazda, see you later Edited July 5, 2010 by made007
glenn Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Does anyone know if the revell tuner series has a DSM eclipse that has an engine,I have a vr4 kit which has no engine but uses the same engine as the turbo eclipse etc from DSM
Hypermung Posted July 5, 2010 Author Posted July 5, 2010 Thanks fellas... I'm not concerned about the fact that the Revell engine is only a 2.0 as it's going in something else, so the basic flat 4 will do me just fine..I'd prefer a plastic kit over a die cast, & especially a 'tuner' kit.. Just think of all the spare wheels, wings, seats & bits n pieces for the parts bin... Ahhh Heaven
