bjscustommodels Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 I want to lower mine, How would i go about lowering it?
Jairus Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Chop the front springs and mounting pins in the front. Add lowing blocks between the leaf springs and the rear axle tube in the rear. Then you might run into wheel clearance problems in the fenderwells because these are plastic models and not real cars (thicker material) so you might need to grind out the wheel well liners to get the tires to clear. Or, you could do like Bob Paeth used to do and cut the tops off the tires.... :?
Steven Zimmerman Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 ...(AHEM)....the Chevelle wagon has rear coils, not leaf springs(SHAME on you,Jairus) :+) watch for binding of the lower rear control arms on the frame, upper control arms need modified too,I actually sliced mine in half lengthwise, and shortened the mounting bosses. The rear wheel wells allow a lot of lowering, you may need to remove/modify the front inner wheel wells tho. If you go too low,the front cross member drags,as do portions of the exhaust system, especially if you use headers.......Steven Zimmerman aka theZman
