docf225 Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Some of you may know me from some of the "other" forums out there but this is my first time here. My parents named me William but my Marines named me "Doc". I started building models in 1967 (geez I'm old). My favorite subjects are commercial vehicles (both Light and Heavy) and Sports/GT/TA race cars(non NASCRAp). I'm the chairman of the IPMS Heavy Haulers SIG. I'm a career firefighter (now a Lieutenant) and a nationally certified Fire & Explosion Investigator.. This is my latest project. I worked for a secondary lead refinery for about a year after I left the Corps before the FD called. Our job was to recycle lead acid batteries. There was a company that used to deliver fork lift batteries to us for reclamation. They used Macks with booms to deliver the battery packs. This is based upon those trucks. I started with the R model Mack re-pop, stretched the chassis, used the KFS boom kit, and I'm scratchbuilding the bed. I hope to have it ready for the NNL East in March.
