Guest zebm1 Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 any landing is a good landing....as long as yu walk away from it.
JAFFA Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 I don't know about calipers, but the discs ya can probably make from washers ya get from yer workshop (or yer girlfriends/wifes car), to give'm the right look; strap em down and sand in circulating motions over it, or even better up; get a sanding bit for yer dremmel (hell no, i aint got a dremel!!). I hope ya get the idea...
62rebel Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 what kind of racing car are you building, Z? perhaps Jaffa's suggestion is workable; all you need then is a representation of a caliper, and you could laminate them from styrene, carve to profile, and paint. two thin plain washers, one flattened star washer to go between them to simulate cooling fins, you might drill cooling holes too; how's that?
Guest zebm1 Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Isn't a racing car, is an Unlimited Semi-Indy Super race truck, kinda like this... or this Kinda Twisted, Hey? Tha washer idea might just work. Who makes 1/25th Brembo brake kits in tha aftermarket? Yall have any ideas? I want to change to discs so as to eleminate all tha extra weight associated with air-operated drum brakes, just leave tha air bags on tha rear axle. Zeb
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Check out Jada Dub City and Maisto Pro Rodz die cast cars. Many of them have larger diameter disk brakes on them. Could be the way to go.
