Hey there. My club is having a tv and movie car build here in a couple months so thanks to Zukaholic I have this car here. It was started on the inside so i'm re-doing it. More to come soon

Thanks guys! Hey Steve I'll have to look for that about the louvers. I didn't notice it before. Also I heard about the 3rd movie and from what I have heard Bill Murray is being a complete jerk about it. They barely got him to be involved and said loose his number after it. I hope it's cool though as I've always liked the first 2. The only thing I didn't care for about this build is the addition of so much stuff to the roof in the second movie compared to the original Ecto.

Yeah unfortunately it's curbside. I thought about opening up the hood and adding an engine however it is a Very fine line from the molded hood lines and the hood Body lines.

Ill be watching this one. Ive been working on the Back to the Future cars (there at a stand still right now), and was thinking about trying to find the Ecto1 as well.

I'm not sure what all your looking for. I don't have any other hearse type stuff. I am interested in the Ecto 1 roof parts for less cluster but I would need the decals too. These decals have the ghost showing #2. Let me know what your looking for parts wise as I have a lot of misc parts.

Nice and very interesting project you have, Railfreak. '59 Cadillac is very good looking car and I like hearses/ambulances too and that's why I've been hunting this model kit for a while... But paintjob looks very nice, keep on the good work!

The equipment on top of the roof is gonna be fun. I've put together many Ecto 1A's, and to capture the realism of the car....gotta get the details in on the roof! Can't wait to see this one come together! Good luck ghostbuster!

Whatever version you go with, you should stick with the white steel wheels and white letter tires, looks much better IMO than the white walls.

Here is a small update. I am fortunate to be able to work on my cars at work when it's slow after my daily stuff is done. Therefore moving stuff from home to work is challenging. It's monsoon season here and I thought the car was dry so I put in a plastic bag to seperate it from the parts spue. This in fact ruined the roof paint. It left almost camo looking patterns in it so I sanded it and re-painted it. The good news is it looks better! It is very clean and bright and shiny. I have not even cleared yet or anything. I started the roof rack and I am watching the movie more and more. GhostBusters ( 1 ) shows a black interior so thats what I'm going with. I think it will help the details pop out. Here is a mock and no I am not using the tires/ wheels here. It's all I had at work. More to come! and Enjoy. Thanks for all the feedback guys I appreciate it

I had that kit as a kid and wished that it had within it the "option" to build the GB1 car. I hated the LED boards, the colored sirens, one of the sirens being lifted well above the roof of the car, the extra greebles on the car and the "2" of the No-Ghosts signs. I wish I could have that body but have the first movie decals/greebles.

Thats exactly what I'm hoping for. I hope Evilone has the stuff. I'm doing the rack and I want to make them inter changable. I can't stand the ghost having the 2 either. I will detail this one but it's not getting glued to the car

Thanks for all the comments guys. Here is a small update. 7/23/2010. It was really busy at work this week so I didn't get a lot done but she made it home in good shape this time. I have the light bars mocked up but the rest of the roof rack is assembled and awaiting detailed painting. i just thought about something. The idea of switching to the Ecto-1 from the first movie is more than likely to late. This has the roof mounted tabs I would have had to get rid of before paint for the electronic boards. Oh well I'll just detail this one. I actually will be looking for 2 more of these kits in the future for the first car and another movie form of the car. I also found pictures of a real one for sale here in AZ for reference. Without further aduo...

BTW, the real one that is for sale here in AZ belongs to a friend of mine; it's in Tucson. He's a member of the Tucson Miniature Auto Club (TMAC). His is one of the bona fide movie cars.

Sweet Dan! I wish I had better inside pics but I did not have good luck finding them. Did that car happen to be up here in Phoenix/ Paradise Valley just a week or so ago? My buddy at work rides a bike to work and has been going nuts looking for it since he saw it. He was hoping I could get reference pictures. That add of your buddies had one picture which gave me ideas but it was kinda dark and looked like there were subs on both sides of the car that faced upside down. It didn't look right.

Yes, I believe it was. He and another friend of mine drove it from Tucson for some kind of movie car meet or show. Your friend probably saw it.
