Tommy misubishi evo. Custom pick up

Hi there got a tommy makanen ( I know it's spelt wrong) lol. Anyway got this from a mate we r doing our own little community build. I bought a scoob y imprezza and I painted it. And my mate (jon) from this forum ( hi jon) he bought this

and he painted it blue then passed it on for me to finish However after I opened the box I dropped it and chipped the paint. So instead of doing the easy thing just repairing it. I chopped the roof back and thought pick up.

this is the first mock up.

u that's when I was going to try make a normal

pick up bed. But changed my mind and thought I'd make it with a cover over it. This is it as it sits.

the buttons are there just to see if speakers would look good? Not sure tho. Also had a lot f cutting for the interior bucket to fit. And last photo for the now. Chassis started.

please any comments good or bad I want the imput thanks ( cause I want to beat jon) lol

Forget the goofy bottle and speakers....leave it smooth and roll it on the 5 star wheels. Some Dark Blue Metallic and Light Blue Metallic lower two-toning would really set it off.

I like the spin you are putting on this kit.I like mini-trucks,used to own a VW truck.Sure do miss that thing.I think your buddy is in for a build off now.Nice work,man.

Yeah I too like the mini truck type thing. My mate will up his game too. Plus I painted the scooby not bad ( blowing my own trumpett lol) I've got a pic of what the scooby looked like when I passed it on.

Just a wee update. Couldn't make my mind up on colour. So yet again I stuck the xbox and forza 3 on and started looking at colour combos. Came up with this

I'm in two minds weather to add viper style stripes?

Took this photo it's just white card not stuck down. Just a mock up what do u guys think stripes or not?

Decided no stripes. And went on the hunt for decals. And found the valvoline ones from a thunderbird NASCAR. Also added a few from a tuner car I had. Please any comments welcome

my paint skills still need some practice. Please bear in mind this is only my 3rd of 4th build. Hope I'm getting better. Thanks Craig

This is coming right along,I really like it so far.... I think it would look better with a lower rear spoiler coming off the tailgate and level with the top of the bed,the present wing looks like an afterthought,and just looks 'tacked on' (only my opinion,of course) A lower wing coming off the back of the truck would blend well with the rake of the rear window,and would visually lengthen and lower the 'look' of the truck. I think the wheels and the ride height both look great,and NOW you need to do another one just like this and make a 2 door WAGON outta it(GRIN).....'Z'

Cheers for the reply. I like the idea of the other spoiler. I will have a dig around in some of my stash see what I can find. Was thinking for next time try making a scooby convertable?? Maybe just have to see what happens. Thanks for the comment

yeah that would be the idea. bit tricky tho. unsure at the minute. got a few scoobys sitting here might make it out of one of them watch this space. lol

Been working on this last couple if days. Got a fair bit done. First pic is of the drive shaft thingy

next up is the brakes and suspention, I originaly picked blue for the shock towers but that was too many colours so here goes

and the bottom half of the engine as this is the revell of Germany no upper ngine ;(

and a picy of the wheels painted the same white as the body (BMW alpine white)

i was unsure what to do with the bottles of gas(nitrous) so I'm going to add them in the plac of the passanger seat and I'm going to try wiring it up

and finnaly the body complete with clear coat. Just needs mirrors and the bodys done.

It's amazing how once u have uploaded the photos u see the flaws in large detail. Oops

Hey some long long over due updates. Been working early mornings(3:30am) so been a long couple of weeks. Got some of the brakes suspention and that glued on.

Spent a wee bit of time on this today. So I started the interior.

was going really well, was ready to finish. But I did not realize that the interior bucket was too big?? I was truly gutted.

Trying to finish this up and get It off the bench. Broke the windscreen so had to make a sun strip to cover it. No as good as I wished.

I've still gotto redo the grill. Might do it white outline and chrome centre, also put the front lights in place

the front wheel is slightly off so I've taken it off to re adjust it. Any comments welcome.
