Never have figured out why they're called Goats instead of GTOs, but here's my rendering of a 1967 model. Pretty much straight from the box but I switched wheels for something from the parts bin and I couldn't help putting on some polished aluminum exhausts. Engine wired, BMF, flocking

Never have figured out why they're called Goats instead of GTOs...

From ehow.com:

As with other cars, Americans have a tendency to reduce the names to a single syllable word. A Corvette becomes a 'vettte, and the Mustang a 'stang. The Barracuda was reduced to 'cuda, eventually influencing Plymouth to refer to the performance models as 'Cuda by 1968.

Goat became the single-syllable name for the Pontiac GTO. The original source for using Goat is unknown, but it quickly caught on. A number of sources attribute the name to a reversal of the last two letters in the GTO acronym (GOT) with a long vowel sound applied to the "O."

Good looking build of my favorite car. I like the front plate too!

As a teen I'd see a dark green 67 parked by the hardware store where the owner worked. He had changed the GTO on the grill to read GOAT.

Man I loved that car.

Back when these GTOs were common, the owners used to say that GTO stood for gas, tires and oil because they required a lot of each.

Must have been a co-promotion with Exxon. Except the tiger's supposed to be in the tank. Or maybe that's where they put the rest of him after they took his skin for a rug. Creepy.

Yes it was a Promotion with Exxon . The Red line tires that appeared on the first '64 Models were not released for public sale until the car was released .. The GTOs were hyped like the Monkeys . Long live the top of the heap . No matter how the king got there . Nice Build . Gooe replica . Thanx ..
