TurboKitty Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 I stumbled across this site, and it has TONS of pictures that you guys could use for reference in your current and future builds. Personally I click and save anything I find useful, and load it to my photobucket.com account. http://www.collectormotors.com/ Click on the rotating ignition to see each car's set of pictures. Some have more than others, but you can even check out the "Cars Sold" section for more pictures.
TurboKitty Posted July 28, 2010 Author Posted July 28, 2010 I just hope that the people that bought the following two cars from that site know all the facts: 1971 PONTIAC FORMULA 400 NUMBERS-MATCHING. PHS DOCUMENTATION. FULLY FUNCTIONAL RAM AIR SYSTEM. RAIV CAM, INTAKE & CARBURETOR. FRAME-OFF RESTORATION. That's impossible, as the Firebird/Camaro were always unibody cars!! 1968 DODGE CHARGER R/T ORIGINAL METALLIC BLUE R/T. AUTOMATIC WITH DANA REAR. FRESH 440+6 PACK. BUCKET SEATS AND CENTER CONSOLE. If that one was represented to the buyer as restored to original specs, then they may be in deep trouble, as the 440 6 Pack didn't debut until 1969, & then only as an option package on the Roadrunner & Superbee. It became an "across the board" option for B & E Body Mopar muscle cars in 1970, including the Charger. Pretty cars, but in a few cases, if one is looking to do an accurate scale replica stock vehicle, perhaps not a good reference source for that. read the description on the Charger, it states in one of the sets of photos (I believe the overall page for it) that it was a restored car meant to be driven, and it clearly states that it's not numbers matching. You couldn't get a 440-6 Charger until 1970. As for the Pontiac, hopefully someone who is looking for reference won't take that particular mishap as a golden example. It's simply a typo, nothing more lol. The site is great if you want to look at bodylines, interiors, engines, etc. Just be forewarned that the cars are not meant to be Concours quality correct. Some of them are pretty close though!
High octane Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Michelle, You're a trouble maker as I checked out that site you recommended and I was drooling all over those Mopars for sale. And to top it off my better half said that we don't have room for any more cars! Thanks for the site.

I want that B5 blue '68 Charger R/T, I don't care if it's not #s matching. I'd take the black non Hemi one too, lol.
Brett Barrow Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 I like this place - http://bestofshowautomotive.com/ Click 'n save is disabled, but with a little cut and pasting you can get the photos.

Brett, I was searching their website often last year when I was car shopping. Although they have some really nice stuff for sale, they are kind of pricey
Brett Barrow Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 That's good to know in case I hit the lottery But until then I'll just use them for 1:1 reference!
