LUKE'57 Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 How'd this thing wind up at my shop? No rollbars, no numbers or lettering, all the seats and fancy wheels to boot! A reminder to some of us old geezers and news to the "young'uns" that "Stock Car" used to at least pay lip service to the name. Even when the factorys were turning out some pretty exotic heavy metal they would have to offer at least 500 of the street version for sale to the public through their regular dealer network. I was going through some pics and ran across some images from a shoot I did with one of the high dollar diecasts and wanted to share some of them. One of the prettiest Mercurys ever built, in my humble Wood Bros biased opinion.
Tony T Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 That is a beautiful die cast! Seems to have a ton of detail to it. The only 1:24 die cast I've seen lately that had a bit more detail than this (pop the hubcaps, and undo the lug nuts with the scale lug wrench to remove the wheels!) was a VW Samba bus, a panel van, and a Beetle for about $200 each by Sun something or other...I don't have one of those either! Thanks for sharing this one, Jerry!
Guest Johnny Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I have only seen one of those cars in person and that was so long ago I can't even remember where it was! That is a great looking diecast. I thought it was a real car in the first picture!
