Guest JamesDE Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 (edited) Started this last week. Kept the frame, but decided to modify it a bit. Here is where I am at right now.... Not sure if the engine will be kept or not... Edited August 3, 2010 by JamesDE
Guest JamesDE Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Got the bed floor started and gonna work on the wheel tubs next...
CrewDawg15 Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 How low can you go Nice fabrication work I really need to get me one of these kits...I've got a 22RE that would look perfect in one of these.
Guest JamesDE Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Thanks bro... Got it for 5 bucks, but was missing the tail lights, windows, and the wheels... I got some replacement glass and tails comin here soon....
CrewDawg15 Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 That's a pretty good haul for 5 bucks, considering those are all parts easily replaced. I'll be watching this one...build on ... Jimmy
Guest JamesDE Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Changed the motor out... Goin with this one now.... Got my motor mounts started, and the tranny crossmember as well...
Modlbldr Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Great looking build so far. I'm digging the work you've done. I know I should wait and see, but my remembery isn't what it used to be and I may miss a crucial step if i don't check back at the right time. Anywho...my question is, what are the aluminum tubes for on the rear and front of the frame? I figured in the rear that it would be for an airbag set-up, but in the front they are too close to the engine to be for bags. What's up? Later-
glenn Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 I would say it's the same for the front as on a 1:1 you have to effectively tub the front as well to get it this low, which means pushing the suspension setup further inboard.
