Barbo Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Hi...I use Synthetic hobby grass for most of my dioramas, but I mix it with home made grass, its less expensive. This is the recipe:....Half full a 5 gallon bucket of clean sawdust and pour warm water at full bucket. Then you mix it with clothes color dye (any green you prefer), stir it all together for about 2 mnts. Let stand for about 15 mnts. Pour the excess tinted water out of the bucket, let it dry on a table cloth. Then strain all the tinted sawdust with a fine kitchen metal strainer to separate diferent grades of texture . The smaller the grain the smaller the scale. Some colors change depending on the wood . I combine greens and yellows for more realistic details, browns are perfect for earth colors.....try it out and let me know....Barbo.
