Jared Roach Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 So I'm thinking about trying it and was wondering if anybody has atempted it before in scale? Any tips or anything? I know I would have to keep them small so they would look right. If you don't know what the "water droplet" effect is, here are a few pics: So I'm thinking about trying it out on a project soon so I was just wondering.
pharr7226 Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Yep. Check this out! http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28840&st=0
Brett Barrow Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Never tried it in scale, but it's super easy in 1:1 world. Problem is the smaller droplets don't have as much 3-D effect. I'd use one of my other airbrushes to spray the water, or, if you only have one AB, something fine like a perfume or cologne mister. You need to stay way back off the surface, or the airstream will move the droplets. Here's a how-to video if people want to watch how it's done - it's the actual painting of that bottom panel
